What this is

Not a religion. A covenant, and a way of life.

You are not asked to leave your people, your language, or your nation. The Seven Laws were given to all of humanity at the very beginning, through Noah. A covenant older than any religion, and wide enough to hold every nation inside it.

A whole life, not a set of rules

Family, work, justice, the marking of time. The covenant is not a list of prohibitions you keep on the side. It is the shape of an ordinary life lived well.

A bond with the Creator that is yours

Prayer, study, and a direct relationship with the God of Israel. Not borrowed from someone else's tradition, and not held at second hand.

Through Israel, from Jerusalem

The Torah was given to Israel to be carried to the nations. Jerusalem is where that transmission has always had its address, and where it has one again.

The Preliminary Noahide Self-Declaration is how those who have chosen this path make it formal: an acceptance of the Seven Laws as given to all humanity.

The Noahide World Center (Brit Olam) is the Jerusalem-based center for Bnei Noach, the children of Noah, serving a worldwide community of non-Jews who live the covenant given to all humanity. This covenant, expressed through the Seven Laws of Noah, is not a religion to join but a way of life rooted in the Hebrew Bible and carried through the people of Israel. Founded under the presidency of Rabbi Oury Cherki, the Center teaches, connects, and serves Noahides in more than eighty countries and over twenty languages.

Questions people ask

What is a Noahide?

A Noahide (Ben Noach, "child of Noah") is a non-Jew who lives by the covenant God gave to all humanity through Noah. Noahides keep the Seven Laws of Noah as a way of life — without converting to Judaism and without leaving their own nation, language, or people. The worldwide Noahide community is served from Jerusalem by the Noahide World Center (Brit Olam).

What are the Seven Laws of Noah?

They are the moral foundation the Hebrew Bible gives to every nation: to establish justice, and to turn away from idolatry, blasphemy, murder, theft, forbidden relationships, and cruelty to living creatures. They are not seven restrictions but the framework of a righteous life open to all humanity. Learning to live them is where the Noahide way begins.

Is becoming a Noahide the same as converting to Judaism?

No. The Noahide path is a covenant and a way of life, not a religion to join and not a conversion. A Noahide keeps the Seven Laws as a non-Jew, remaining within their own nation and people, while drawing on the wisdom of the Hebrew Bible carried through Israel.

Who are Bnei Noach, the "children of Noah"?

Bnei Noach are the peoples of the world descended from Noah — all of humanity outside the Jewish people. In the Hebrew Bible, every nation stands within the covenant God made with Noah after the flood, and those who consciously live by it today are called Noahides.

Is there a Noahide community, and what is the First International Congress of Noahides?

Yes. Noahides form living communities on six continents, connected through the Noahide World Center in Jerusalem. From November 2–6, 2026, the Center will host the First International Congress of Noahides at the Seven Arches Hotel in Jerusalem — the first worldwide gathering of the Noahide community.
